Field Blur is the simplest of the three filters to use. It is used for making the image blur with the values.

Place the image which you need to create a bokeh effect in the Adobe Photoshop CS6 canvas. I have taken the below image for to get the bokeh effect.

Go to Filter > Blur > Field Blur

When you select this option in the Filter Blur menu, the image opens in a full size editing window of “Blur Gallery” with “Blur Tools” and “Blur Effects” as below

A ‘pin’ is automatically placed in the center of the image, surrounded by an adjustment ring.

Now under the “Field Blur” and “Blur Effects” category adjust the blur intensity according to your need. I have used the below values

This can be seen in the preview. To make the blur effect effective, click “Ok”.

Then you can see a “Progress” bar converting the image into blur, Once it over the image will turn around into a wonderful bokeh effect.

Thereafter I have got the image below with bokeh effect. Its very easy to create bokeh effect.

If you play around the blur intensity in the Blur Gallery, then you can get variation of bokeh effects.

Here I have given two more examples of the same image.
